Theatre of the Moon, June 20, 2024

Theatre of the Moon is a playful song ceremony that features the appearance of a full moon as the headliner of the show. The evening’s offerings include original moon music and text excerpts from Ital Calvino’s short story Distance to the Moon amoung other enticements. The line up includes accordion, and video by Katheryn Petersen, trumpet by Felix Taylor, vocals and narration by Giulia Stefani and percussion and electronic effects by Brian Elery Phillips.

This event is being held on the unceded, shared traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples, Coast Salish Peoples of Galiano, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island. We are grateful for the generousity of CRD Arts & Culture and BC Arts Council.
