The Islanders Hot Club

The Islanders Hot Club (Le Hot Club des Insulaires) is a Gypsy Jazz (Manouche) ensemble from Victoria, BC.       This trio of vagabonds re-lives the classic era of French Manouche, American Swing, and Italian Shoes.  Faster than a New York minute and as smooth as a fine Pinot Noir, these multi-instrumental, multi-lingual, multi-talented players will leave you wanting more.        The group is co-led by double bassist Tim Croft and guitarist Nick Mintenko. The band leaders also double on vocals (singing in English et en français!).  Bringing his mischievous musette stylings to the band, accordionist Jeff Poynter completes this tasteful trifecta.       With modern twists on classic standards and classic takes on modern tunes, the virtuosity of these seasoned pros will keep it swinging all night long.

This event is being held on the unceded stolen traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island.
