About The Event
The Yellowhouse Art Centre Society’s (YHACS) venue has been operating under residential zoning and
as a non-profit cannot take on commercial zoning. Working together with the Islands Trust,
Yellowhouse is getting geared to apply for a TUP (Temporary Use Permit) along with a variance
application to use properties setbacks / edges for some parking. We are looking for support to cover the
cost of complying with the Islands Trusts regulations.
Join in – Dinner parties and a silent art auction
The first fund raising event is a series of three dinner parties hosted in the homes of Eleanor Coulthard
(January 14th), Huguette Benger (January 21st) and Susan Lambert (January 28th). The
cost is $60 per person. You can enjoy a night out, eat an exemplary home cooked meal in a
local artist’s house and contribute to the Yellowhouse simply by being there. It is easy. Just
decide which dinner you want to attend and reserve your spot right away!
Spaces for the dinners are limited to 8 guests so if you would like to attend, please choose one and sign up
– and send $60 via e-transfer to email@example.com with the host’s name in the memo / note
box or by purchasing a ticket through YHACS’s website, yellowhouseartcentre.ca/ events page. Since the
YHACS is a non-profit society – not a charity – funds donated are not eligible for a tax receipt.
Some of the art donated by the community will be travelling to each dinner venue for viewing
and bids. The auction will continue online until the end of January and you may view all the
contributed art and make bids without attending a dinner. If you want to donate one or two
pieces of art for the auction, please contact Roksan at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can
either bring your work to Yellowhouse by January 10th, or join the online auction from your
own space by posting a photo of your donation to the designated Facebook page.
The auction will be held between January 14 -29.
All pieces donated need to be ready for display and include the title, medium, artist’s name,
size and a reserve / minimum bid. They will be returned to the owners at the end of the auction
if unsold. You may also simply donate funds to the Yellowhouse by sending an e-transfer to
email@example.com (with TUP in the memo box) or through the Donate button on the
