About the event
Born and raised in Victoria, BC on the traditional
territory of the Lkwungen speaking peoples, Mary
Belle Lapp writes to heal and share the magic of
music. She is releasing her debut album entitled
“Epiphanies At Dawn” in the fall of 2019, recorded
on Pender Island at Dobres Recording Studio.
The album showcases her melodic vocals and
rhythmic guitar interwoven with Dobres’ lead
guitar, drums and bass playing. “I’m just
somebody who needs love, just like you, and just
like all of us,” Lapp writes about the human
experience of love, truth and seeking wisdom.
Living back in her hometown of Victoria, Lapp
finds inspiration in the natural world all around her,
the wild coastal animals and her beautiful
community of friends and family. Her current body
of work, which will form her second record, is filled
with Celtic inspired melodies featuring violins,
flutes and piano alongside uplifting lyrics about
healing, hope and unconditional love.
