Gabriel Palatchi is a true musical visionary whose talent knows no bounds. Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has carved out a distinctive place in the global music scene with his inspired compositions and virtuosic performances. His music is a unique blend of Latin rhythms, jazz, tango, funk, and world music influences, resulting in a sound that is uniquely his own. His ability to effortlessly blend complex rhythms with soul-stirring melodies has earned him widespread acclaim and recognition within the music industry. Gabriel’s musical journey has taken him around the globe, captivating audiences in prestigious venues and festivals across continents for the last fifteen years.
From an early age, Gabriel displayed an innate gift for the piano. He spent his formative years in Buenos Aires nurturing his skills, studying classical piano, and was mentored by some of the great maestros of blues, tango, jazz and Latin jazz. After graduating in 2007 from Berklee International School, Argentina, he studied with latin jazz master “Chucho” Valdez in Cuba.
Throughout his career, Gabriel has released several critically acclaimed albums that showcase his remarkable talent. He has receiving critical acclaim as a as a composer and performer that recognize his exceptional contributions to the world of music. Gabriel has been reviewed and featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, Latin Jazz Network, Ejazznews, All About Jazz, Jazz Caribe, The Toronto Star, Salsa Son Timba Colombia, Newstime South Africa, and Inside World Music amongst many others.
His album “Trivolution” was selected as the Gold Medal Winner in the Composer/Album categories; achieved TOP TEN status in the 2015 “Global Music Awards”, and was featured in the “Emerging Artists” section of BILLBOARD MAGAZINE.
This event is being held on the shared and unceded traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island.
