Earth Art Workshop with Alana Hansen

We are doing this again!

Join us for another Earth Art walk / workshop with Alana Hansen on Friday April 7th 11AM! We will meet at Sum'nuw (Montegue beach) and very respectfully create temporary art pieces. We will also explore with water-colours if we have enough time.

Open to ages 7+ (younger folks can join with a caregiver)

Alana Hansen is an artist who lives and breathes to create art with and inspired by nature. Having spent her childhood summers on the Southern Gulf Islands in Coastal British Columbia, Alana is drawn to places where the land meets the ocean. Immersed in nature is where she feels most at ease, where the interconnections in our ecosystems become infinite and where the art from her soul is awakened. Through her ethereal watercolour paintings and impermanent earth art installation, she aspires to unearth a sense of curiosity and greater understanding of the interconnectedness between all living beings. At its core, Alana hopes that people will feel a deep connection to, and reverence for the earth. With an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree in Global Resource Systems from the University of British Columbia, Alana’s work is informed by a worldview that is uniquely grounded in both ecological science and art. It was throughout her education that Alana’s creativity truly began to flourish. She was inspired to paint as a means to connect all that she was learning- visualizing and transcending academia through art. Alana carries this intention into her artistic process today.
