Winner of the Félix Award for Jazz Album of the Year in 2022 and named Radio-Canada’s Jazz Revelation for 2020–2021, Carl Mayotte is one of the most sought-after bassists and jazz musicians in Quebec and Canada today. Holding a master’s degree in jazz performance from McGill University, his virtuosity and versatility have been praised by fellow musicians and critics alike, including Alain Caron and Bass Magazine. One of his goals as an artist is to democratize jazz and bring this musical genre back to the forefront.
